The tournament: dates and format
When does the Pentecost 2027 football tournament in Normandy take place?
The Normandy Football Cup takes place from Friday 14 to Monday 17 May 2027, over the Pentecost (Whitsun) weekend. Friday is for the teams’ arrival, Saturday for the group matches and Sunday for the ranking matches and finals. Monday 17 May, a public holiday in France, is kept free for activities: a Pentecost 2027 football tournament that, for French clubs, means no missed school days.
Why choose a football tournament in Normandy?
A football tournament in Normandy combines competition and discovery in an exceptional setting. Between the sea, the Normandy cliffs and the D-Day beaches, your players experience much more than a weekend of matches. The Normandy Football Cup offers your club a trip that is sporting, educational and friendly all at once.
How many matches does each team play, and what is the format?
Each team plays 5 guaranteed matches, in 8-a-side football. On Saturday 15 May, the group matches are played over half a day; Sunday 16 May is devoted to the ranking matches and finals. Every match is run by official referees and filmed: coaches can watch the games again and families keep a souvenir of the tournament.
Age groups and level of play
Which age groups can take part in this youth football tournament?
The tournament is open to the U9 to U13 age groups, in 8-a-side football: U9 (born in 2018), U10 (2017), U11 (2016), U12 (2015) and U13 (2014). This youth football tournament is ideal for giving your players the experience of a big tournament with a stay, alongside their teammates and coaches.
Is a particular level required to take part?
No, the competition is open to all levels. Whether your team plays in a local league or at a higher level, Saturday’s group matches followed by Sunday’s ranking matches let it face opponents of a similar level. With 5 guaranteed matches, every team gets real playing time over the weekend, whatever its results.
Registration and budget
How do I register my team for the Normandy Football Cup?
To register your team, contact World Games Events on +33 9 78 38 46 75. Registration costs 200 € per team. Our team then helps you choose your accommodation package and organise the stay, so that your club only has to focus on the pitch.
How much does a football tournament in Normandy with accommodation cost?
Tournament registration is 200 € per team, and stay packages start from 199 € per person. This 4-day / 3-night stay includes accommodation and meals. This youth football tournament with accommodation lets your club keep control of its budget while giving its players a complete experience.
What does taking part in the tournament include?
By taking part in the Normandy Football Cup, each team gets 5 guaranteed 8-a-side matches, run by official referees. All matches are filmed, so you can relive the best moments of the weekend. The programme also leaves free half-days and the whole of Monday to enjoy activities and Normandy with your group.
Accommodation, meals and transport
What types of accommodation are available?
Two types of accommodation are available: a holiday village or hotels. The holiday village, with a water park and a beach nearby, houses groups in units for 4 to 8 people, in twin or single rooms. The hotels offer quadruple, triple, twin or single rooms. Extra nights are possible depending on the package chosen, to extend your football trip to Normandy.
Are meals included in the stay?
Yes, 7 meals are included in the 4-day / 3-night stay: 3 breakfasts, from Saturday 15 to Monday 17 May, plus 2 lunches and 2 dinners on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 May. Coaches therefore don’t have to organise meals during the two competition days.
Are there shuttles between the accommodation and the pitches?
Yes, shared coach shuttles are available as an option to link the accommodation with the tournament venue, there and back. This saves accompanying adults from making multiple car journeys and simplifies the weekend’s logistics: your players arrive at the pitches together, ready to play.
Supervision and accompanying adults
How are the tournament matches supervised?
Every match is run by official referees, to guarantee fair games played according to the rules of 8-a-side football. Throughout the stay, players are accompanied by their club’s coaches and officials. Matches are also filmed, so coaches can analyse performances and families can follow their children.
Can parents come along with the team?
Yes, parents and accompanying adults can join the stay alongside the team. As packages are priced per person, everyone can choose the accommodation that suits them, in the holiday village or at the hotel. It’s a chance to share a real club football weekend as a family, between matches, the beach and discovering Normandy.
Activities and discovering Normandy
What can we do during the tournament’s free time?
The programme includes free half-days and the whole of Monday 17 May to enjoy the region. At the holiday village, players can relax at the water park and on the nearby beach. Clubs can also discover the Normandy cliffs, ideal for a group outing between two competition days.
Can we visit the D-Day beaches during the tournament?
Yes, this football tournament near the D-Day beaches lets you visit these historic sites as well as the American Cemetery. The free day on Whit Monday is ideal for this outing, which gives the stay a real educational dimension and leaves young players with a lasting memory, well beyond the pitch.
